Support structures – are added by a model designer or generated by slicer (Simplify3D). These structures are built to keep parts of the model hanging in the air. Properly printed support is not a part of the model and can be easily brake after finishing the printing process. Simplify3D generates the support structures automatically. The user can also add or remove support structures manually. Support generated by Simplify3D has two parts, sparse applied material and dense layers of supports, which directly supporting the correct model.
