Raft – a method of increasing the adhesion of printout to the heatbed. Raft is a platform consisted of layers, alternately added one by one. The platform is generated by the slicer under the printed model. The raft is bigger than the outline of the model so it increases the adhesion and protects the model from the thermic shrinkage effect (plastic-plastic connection). Another advantage of the raft is the abbility to eliminate minor roughness of the heatbed. Raft also simplifies the process of printing of the models which do not have a smooth surface that could act as a base.
